Biography

Patty Meotti was born in Milan,Italy.

After a dreadful car accident she was forced to change her work from illustrator to painting. Putting all her energy in this new artistic challenge she focused on her favorite subject: Hats, from the post-war period "La Dolce Vita", of which the greatest part of her collection consists.

Ancient Rome’s "Gladiators" are also part of her collection, and, living in the Caribbean, she was inspired to paint Caribbean fish and sailboats as well. She paints acrylics on canvas and trompe l’oeil’ "Murals".

Another part of her work are abstract sculptures called "Arte Povera", a modern art form that evokes the recycling of everyday objects, emphasizing the process of creation over the finished object.

She is a member of the "ArtLovers Association" of St.Martin.

Patty Meotti est nee a Milan en Italie.

Apres un accident de voiture ayant failli lui couter un bras elle a ete contrainte de laisser tomber le travail d’illustratrice, et de modifier son style. Puisant toute sa force de vie alors dans la peinture, elle a choisi comme sujet les chapeaux de "La Dolce Vita", periode de l’apres-guerre Italienne.

Aussi les Gladiateurs de la Rome antique font partis de sa collection. Vivant dans la Caraibe, elle a ete inspire de peindre aussi les poissons et voiliers.Elle peint acrylic sur toile, et des Trompe L’Oeils. Une autre facon de s’exprimer est fait par des sculptures en "Arte Povera", un mouvement d’art moderne datant des annees ’60, introduit par Germano Celant.

Une forme d’art non-traditionelle, recyclant des objets quotidiens, et priviligiant le processus de creation a l’objet fini.

Elle est membre de L’Association "Art Lovers" de Saint Martin.
